Rolling Thunder Rider Guide

Rolling Thunder Pumpkin Carving Party 6pm Tonight -1232 Vine Street

Wednesday Night #4 - Bob rides away

Wednesday Night #4 was great. Another cloudy, cyclocross day for a Wednesday Night Race. We're getting lucky with the conditions this year. At #3 Toby put together a gem and I didn't think you could make a better course at the fort. However, this week Fiore setup an excellent track. Two run-ups and lots of variety.

Kiefer, Elliot, Jesse, Bob, and Owen was the front group this week. Bob rode away solo on the run/ride hill. Owen came in strong for 2nd followed by an on form Elliot.

The Missoula racers look ready for the Thunder. Check out John Sieber's web album. He's got some nice shots from last night.

Last Chance Rolling Thunder Dance

Kalispell and Moose Cross meant the last weekend to tune your form before Rolling Thunder.

Up north Bob and Butterfield battled to the last lap. A Butterfield mechanical gave Bob his first MT series victory. Both men look primed for a nice showing at the Thunder.

In Victor, we saw lots of excellent action. The Moose Cross crew put on a great event. Check out their blog for a follow up report on the weekend. Lenaburg and GAS's Iron Curtain looked solid in the 4's. Lenaburg took second both days. The ladies was epic. Regional all stars Frykman, Curry, Walker, and Zephanie were all in attendance. Frykman stole the show on Day 1, but the scrappy Curry made up for it with a Day 2 victory. A split weekend against solid comp is the perfect lead in for an already exciting Rolling Thunder ladies race!

Excellent Masters racing. Frank battled a Krieg Cycling rider Day 1 and Day 2 Frank, Alex, Alex L, and Fiore all raced the masters. Alex G put on nice show and took the victory

The men's race was all over the place. Last year's winner Troy Barry was there and looked strong. Curry jumped out early and never looked back taking the win by a big margin. 2nd place was Alex G! AliG was destroying the Moose Cross Course and looks to be hitting a nice peak before the Thunder. Troy was third and The Flying Dutchman was 4th. Day 2 for the men saw the season debut of a hurt Sam Krieg. He took an impressive win from John. 3rd was Eric Rassmusen from Salt Lake City, I never caught his name. 4th was the Dutchman again. Both days the 5th - 10th places were comprised of Montana all stars Frykman, Frank, Lussier, Brad, Fiore, and Dale. Dave Bergart from Victor rode two great races.

I wonder if Krieg is going to race the Thunder with a bum shoulder?
