Bettini Bettini Bettini

I've gotta take a break from cross and give props to my favorite rider Paolo Bettini. The Cricket came through on Stage 6 of the Vuelta. He held off a hard charging Valverde and Gilbert to grab the stage. In typical Bettini like fashion he thanked the whole team for his victory and said he'd been thinking about this stage for a long time, The Cricket is so sneaky. I love it.

Rolling Thunder - Ladies prize list beefs up

This year Rolling Thunder will have a separate race for the ladies. I want the best female athletes in Montana to do battle October 18th. In hopes to raise the stakes and attract MT's finest; Missoula Bicycle Works has graciously donated a 2009 Kona Major Jake frame and fork. Big thanks to Missoula Bicycle Works for believing in the race and believing in cyclocross for ladies in Montana. I hope this will motivate all the ladies to train and bring their "A" game to Rolling Thunder. Spread the word your friends, girlfriends, wives, and SO's. If you don't have a cyclocross bike here's your chance.......start training.

Frank and John

Frank Gonzalez and John Curry are killing the dirt this year. MT cyclocross field reporter Joe C. notified me that they placed 1, 2 at the short track in Brian Head. What a great result for two of Montana's finest. I'm pumped that Montana riders are preforming on the national level. Whether it's Zephanie Blasi at the NMBS, or Muhlfeld killing it at Cream Puff. I love to see Montana riders competing on the highest level. Sam and Andy Schultz didn't have to bad of a weekend either. Andy finished up a banner year placing 4th in the NMBS standings.

As for Frank and John, I've got several thoughts......

Frank should definetly bring his MT Velo kit to cross nationals this year and kill the masters

John should upgrade to a pro mountain biker already

Call to all Montana Cyclocrossers!!! You better bring your 'A' game this season.
